As the Ski Classics Season XVI approaches, we had the opportunity to speak with longstanding member of Team Ramudden, Herman Paus.

Herman Paus, who is heading into his fifth season with the team, shared his reflections on past performances, training updates, and goals for the upcoming winter.

Paus’s loyalty to Team Ramudden says a lot about how committed the team is to the continued development of young talent and creating a great environment for growth and success. Paus shared, “This will be my fifth season in Team Ramudden. What made me choose Ramudden in the first place is that they have always been willing to give young athletes the chance to try their hand at Ski Classics with the best sporting conditions.”

Leadership changes for Team Ramudden

Herman acquired his first victory in Ski Classics in the La Venosta ITT at the start  of season XV.  “Last season was a bit off. Although it was of course very big to take my first win in Ski Classics, it was probably the season I felt I performed the worst based on the conditions I had.”

When questioned about any new training methods he has adopted during the summer training seasonPaus’s approach to training highlights a strategic shift back to foundational methods, “I tested a lot of new things towards last season. Since I perhaps didn’t feel that everything worked as well as I hoped, I went back to basics a bit this summer. I feel that I have more control heading into the season this year than I had last year, so I feel I am in a very good way heading into the coming season.”

With clear goals for both podium finishes and positioning in the overall and youth competitions, Paus’s objectives reflect a balance of ambition and strategic focus.

“My goal for the season is to fight for more podiums and victories. That is my main goal, but if I achieve it, I will be in the fight for the youth jersey and also in a good position in the champ competition. So those are my secondary goals.”

As Ski Classics Season XVI is approaching fast on the horizon, all eyes will be on Herman Paus as he looks to build on his past successes. With a fresh focus and a solid game plan, Paus is set for an exciting season ahead.
