Czech Pro Team eD system Silvini Team Celebrates Hard-Fought Achievements in Ski Classics Season XIV

The eD system Silvini Team, a Czech Pro Team registered in the Ski Classics since the second season, has completed Season XIV amidst many challenges. Despite some difficult circumstances, the team competed in all 14 events of the season. However, Covid still affected the team’s results and performance in several races.

With a plan to secure 15th place out of 35 Pro Teams, the eD system Silvini Team achieved their target, which they rate as a very good result, considering that the entire team comprises amateur skiers from the Czech Republic, who juggle work and vacation for races.

Despite facing numerous illnesses throughout the season and encountering lousy luck with equipment and service, the team fought for the best possible results until the last race.

In the men’s field, the team’s best result was achieved by Václav Sedláček, who secured the best position (30th) at Jizerská50. Meanwhile, Martin Jakš and Petr Knop also contributed significantly to the team’s performance.

“I consider season 2022/2023 positive. I have improved significantly in my technique, which made training and racing a completely different dimension for me, and I could enjoy it more. We also found out that I have great strength, so there will be a lot of motivation and room for improvement for next season,” says Václav Sedláček in a team press release and continues:

“Finally, I fulfilled my dream and went to all the events of the Ski Classics series and enjoyed wonderful new places.”

In the women’s class, Karolína Grohová stood out with her unique 13th place at Pustertaler Ski Marathon and 15th place at Vasaloppet. The team also included Kateřina Janatová, who achieved 15th place at Summit 2 Senja, and Petra Hynčicová, who secured 18th place at Reistadløpet.

“I have overall positive feelings about the 2022/2023 season, and I will remember it fondly. I had the greatest joy from the races in Toblach, at Vasaloppet and Orsa, where the combination of form and great skis came together, and overall everything worked flawlessly,” says Karolína Grohová.

Despite their achievements, the eD system Silvini Team recognizes that there is still room for improvement, and they will continue to work on enhancing their performance next season.
