The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ganghoferlauf Classic, took place this Saturday with a 47km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Leutasch, Austria. Check out the results.

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ganghoferlauf Classic, took place this Saturday with a 47km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Leutasch, Austria. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, one of the Ski Classics Challengers events in Austria, Ganghoferlauf Classic, saw a fierce battle for all the podium places. Ultimately, Fabián Štoček, Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino, and Verena Veit, SC Oberstdorf, won their respective races with solid performances.

Ganghoferlauf Classic – Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Fabián Štoček, Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino, completed the race at a time of 2:02:21.0.

Tom Wagner, SWV Goldlauter, finished in second place, 12.3 seconds behind, followed by Jonathan Göppert, Cibes Lift Ski-Willy Marathon Team, completing the podium in third position and 57.3 seconds back.

  1. Fabián Štoček, Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino, 2:02:21.0
  2. Tom Wagner, SWV Goldlauter, +12.3
  3. Jonathan Göppert, Cibes Lift Ski-Willy Marathon Team, +57.3

Ganghoferlauf Classic – Women’s Race 

In the women’s competition, the winner was Verena Veit, SC Oberstdorf, completing the event in a total time of 2:17:53.8.

Sophie Lechner, TERREX XC Ski Team, finished in second place, 5:50.8 back, followed by Germana Thannheimer, SC Oberstdorf, 7:18:5 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  1. Verena Veit, SC Oberstdorf, 2:17:53.8
  2. Sophie Lechner, TERREX XC Ski Team, +5:50.8
  3. Germana Thannheimer, SC Oberstdorf, 7:18.5

As the Ganghoferlauf Classic 47km is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
