After spending ten years living in Östersund, Sweden, Max Novak has now moved to Oslo, Norway. Several Team Aker Dæhlie athletes live there, training together multiple times a week.

“I was here a bit in the spring and felt it was the right move. So that’s where the idea came from,” Novak tells Langd.se.

Living with his teammate

Five of the men now live in Oslo, and the team holds at least two joint training sessions each week.

“There are five of us guys here. It’s great for sparring and for becoming a more cohesive team. That was really the main reason for coming here,” says Max, adding:

“I’ve been staring at a lot of backs this summer.”

One of his teammates he’ll be spending even more time with — because the two are now living together.

“I’m living with Mathias Aas Rolid now. We’ll do most of our training sessions together.”

A strong team behind him

Team Aker Dæhlie has made a significant investment on the men’s side, with three of the athletes — including Max — having won Ski Classics races over the past two years. Now, the Swede is looking forward to hopefully having more teammates up front during the races.

“It feels really exciting that we’ve become so strong. I haven’t been in a team before where so many of us are at that level and capable of winning races. It’s going to be really fun to have teammates around me in the lead group wearing the same team colors,” concludes Max Novak.
