Tour de Ski Standings After Stage 2 – Solid Performances From Pro Tour Skiers

After two of the seven stages in the 2022/2023 Tour de Ski, these are the current overall leaders. Solid performances from the Pro Tour athletes. 

Tour de Ski stage 1 was a sprint in freestyle technique on Saturday, and stage 2 on Sunday featured a 10km pursuit race in classic technique, both at Val Müstair, Switzerland. 

Top 3 Women – Tour de Ski after 2 of 7 stages

  1. Tiril Udnes Weng (NOR), 31:13
  2. Kerttu Niskanen (FIN), 31:13
  3. Frida Karlsson (SWE), 31:13

Ski Classics Pro Tour stars Astrid Øyre Slind (NOR), Team Aker Dæhlie, and Ida Dahl (SWE), Team Engcon, are showing strong performances also on the traditional cross-country skiing. Astrid is top 10 after two stages, 1:04 back, and Ida is sitting at 14th place overall, 1:23 behind the leader.

Katerina Paul (AUS), Team BSV Ibex, is also racing Tour de Ski and is currently in 67th place overall, 7:43 behind Tiril Udnes Weng.

On the men’s side, Pro Tour athletes are also making a presence in this year’s Tour de Ski. Dietmar Nöckler (ITA), Team Robinson Trentino, is currently 28th overall after two stages, 1:36 behind the leader. Andrew Musgrave (GBR), Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, is 40th, 1:59 back, and Thomas Bing (GER), xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, 52nd overall and 2:09 behind.

Tour de Ski Overall after stage 2 – Men

Tour de Ski now moves on to Oberstdorf, Germany, for Tour de Ski stage 3 and 4 on January 3 and 4. Stage 3 features a 10km individual start in classic technique, and stage 4 is a 20km pursuit competition in freestyle technique.

New this season is the exact race distances for women and men in all World Cup events, as the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS) decided in May. Several other changes have also been introduced to the World Cup.
