Therese Johaug Wins the 30km Skate at the Olympics
Therese Johaug capped her Olympic career with a solid victory.
The 33-year-old Norwegian won the brutal 30-kilometer skate race at the 2022 Olympics by one minute and 43 seconds to USA’s Jessie Diggins, while Kerttu Niskanen of Finland was third.
Due to grueling conditions with frigid temperatures and howling winds, the race was moved up several hours to let the skiers compete at the warmest part of the day.

The women’s 30-kilometer skate race was the last cross-country event at the Olympics in Beijing.
Yesterday, Russia’s Alexander Bolshunov concludes the 2022 Olympics the way he opened: On the top of the podium, after crushing his competitors in the men’s 30-kilometer skate race on the same course.
The weather situation for the men was even harsher, forcing the organizers to cut their distance from 50 to 30 kilometers.
