Evelina Crüsell is one of Sweden’s top talents in cross-country skiing. She has now been forced to undergo an ACL surgery.

Evelina Crüsell has had to undergo ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) surgery. The young talent shared this news with Viaplay during the national team camp in Torsby. The 22-year-old had previously undergone ACL surgery and felt something was wrong after the season.

An MRI revealed that the ACL was severely damaged, once again.

“It was a bit off,” says Evelina Crüsell to Viaplay.

Working her way back

Now Evelina is focused on her recovery.

“The plan is for me to be able to compete, but I don’t know when I can compete again,” says Evelina Crüsell to Viaplay.

National team coach Johan Granath believes that the decision to operate was the right one.

“She had issues towards the end of the season. In hindsight, it feels like the completely right decision to operate and get this sorted out.”
