The next stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts in Lahti, Finland, this Friday. The Swedish national team is now presented.

Lahti, Finland, is the place for the next stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The Lahti World Cup starts on Friday, March 1, with a team sprint in classic technique, followed by a 20km interval start race in classic technique on Saturday, March 2, and a sprint race in freestyle technique on Sunday, March 3.

In a press release, the Swedish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Lahti.

“After a successful North American tour, it is time to rub the jet lag out of my eyes, and return to the final part of the World Cup with competitions here in the Nordics. Lahti is a classic skiing ground with many historic championships that have been decided out in the forests around the arena,” says Swedish national team manager Anders Byström.

The 20km individual start race in classic technique will create extra thrill for the Swedish skiers.

“We have many skiers who are a little extra excited about an interval start, as it has been a little sparse with that type of race during the season. The tracks in Lahti are decisive, to say the least, and it will be exciting to see what our Swedish skiers can perform,” says Anders Byström.
