Sweden’s Junior National Team for Season 2023/2024
The Swedish Ski Association has named ten cross-country skiers for their Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team for Season 2023/2024.
According to a press release from the Swedish Ski Association, the ten cross-country skiers selected (five women and five men) will be part of the Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team for the upcoming season.
“This is an extremely exciting team with many different profiles. For example, with the two best in the world in sprints after the Junior World Championships in Whistler. An interesting team with a strong will to learn and develop, says Andreas Domeij, the national team coach.
The two mentioned skiers are Anton Grahn and Elias Danielsson, who were first and second in the sprint race at the Junior World Championships. Both athletes were named for the national team with Erik Bergström, Hugo Nilsson, and Simon Nordlander.
On the women’s side, Elin Näslund and Erica Lavén were named again to the Swedish junior squad, together with three new names: Malin Oskarsson, Nora Bråmer, and Evelina Crüssel.
“The women’s side maintains a high and even level, and the group will certainly spar and lift each other. This is an inquisitive team with great development opportunities, which will be interesting to follow,” says Andreas Domeij and concludes:
“Just like last year, we will continue inviting juniors outside the junior national team to join our camps and training sessions. I am sure that we open up and more people get the opportunity to train together and learn together is a concept for success and something I am proud that we can offer.”
