The Norwegian Ski Association has named ten cross-country skiers for their Equinor Junior National Team for Season 2023/2024. 

The Norwegian Ski Association has named ten cross-country skiers for their Equinor Junior National Team for Season 2023/2024. 

According to a press release from the Norwegian Ski Association, the ten cross-country skiers selected (five women and five men) will be part of the Equinor Junior National Team for the upcoming season.

From the 2023/2024 season, the team places will be reduced by two skiers (one woman and one man), following a decision by the Norwegian Cross-Country Committee. Six new cross-country skier is joining the team.

“Oline Vestad and Helene Ekrheim Haugen are the new girls and Lars Michael Saab Bjertnæs, Casper Grindhagen, Lars Heggen and Storm Haugenes Pedersen are the new boys. Milla Grosberghaugen Andreassen, Julie Hammer, Eva Ingebrigtsen, and Kristian Kollerud are in their second year on the Equinor Junior National Team.”

“The girls can all show strong results during last year’s distance season. Some also have special skills in sprinting, which helps to complement the group. Everyone in the boy’s group is also strong at distance in both styles, and two o them were in the sprint final in the previous World Championships. The Equinor Junior National Team 2023/2024 has athletes with championships experience from both the Nordic Junior National Championships and the Junior World Championships, where they have won several medals. This year’s team has also been confirmed that the step up is not too far. The bulk of the team is located in Eastern Norway, one from Setesdal/Hovden and two from Trondheim.”

  • Kristian Kollerud, Konnerud IL
  • Storm Haugenes Pedersen, Hovden Sportsklubb
