The Norwegian Ski Association has named ten cross-country skiers for their Equinor National Recruiting Team for Season 2023/2024.

According to a press release from the Norwegian Ski Association, the ten cross-country skiers selected (five women and five men) will be part of the Equinor National Recruiting Team for the upcoming season.

From the 2023/2024 season, the team places will be reduced by two skiers (one woman and one man), following a decision by the Norwegian Cross-Country Committee based on athletes’ development and results over time. A new cross-country skier is joining the team, Sigrid Leseth Føyen.

New Head Coach

Monika Kørra, the head coach for the team, will be on maternity leave from July 2023. From May 1, Jacob Walther steps in as a head coach for next season.

According to the press release, “Jacob is already part of Equinor Recruiting’s coaching team and now takes the main responsibility during Monika’s absence. There is a vacant position as coach for the Equinor National Team. This will assist Walther in the coaching team and will be in place during May 2023. Together, the two coaches will reach new goals for the following selected recruit skiers for the season 2023/2024.”
