Sweden’s Jonna Sundling Dominates the Sprint at the Olympics
Updates in progress
Sweden’s Jonna Sundling certainly made a statement in her first event at her first Olympics: She won the qualifier by a landslide. She won the quarterfinals with time to spare. She won the semifinal. In the final, there was a huge gap between her and rest of the heat. And she made it look so…easy.
Behind Sundling, there was a fierce battle for the rest of the podium. Current sprint World Cup leader Maja Dahlqvist of Sweden outsprinted USA’s Jessie Diggins, and snagged the silver medal. Diggins takes the last spot on the podium.
