Sweden’s dream team was unbeatable at the cross-country World Cup in Dresden.

Having finished first and second in the World Cup sprint in Dresden, Germany, yesterday, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist were clearly the favorites coming into the team sprint today.

The Swedish duo went to work: They took the lead from the start and kept it to the finish line. Controlling the race from start to finish winning with a handsome gap to USA in second place and Slovenia in third.

For Dahlqvist, the World Cup team sprint victory was her fifth consecutive on the World Cup this season.

For Sundling, the team sprint victory caps off a solid return to racing and the World Cup. Sundling had to sit out the first three weeks of the World Cup after injuring her hand in the season opener in Sweden more than a month ago.

How was this for a comeback weekend?
“This was really fun. It pretty much couldn’t be any better,” Sundling says to reporters after the victory.
