Schuchinsk – Kazakhstan

According to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), located in the Akmola Region of northern Kazakhstan, the resort city of Schuchinsk hosts this prestigious event. Its name stems from the abundance of pike fishes, locally known as “schuka,” in the nearby lake. With a population shy of 50,000, the city boasts breathtaking surroundings, including evergreen pine forests, birch groves, majestic blue mountains, and many crystal-clear lakes.

Schuchinsk takes great pride in its rich ski heritage, having produced renowned Kazakh skiers such as Olympic champion Vladimir Smirnov and WSC medalist Nikolay Chebotko.

Roller Ski World Cup Venue

The National Ski Center in Schuchinsk serves as the designated venue for the Roller Ski World Cup. Since its inauguration in 2018, the center has witnessed numerous international sporting events, including the IBU Youth & Junior World Championships, FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix, FIS Summer Continental Cup Ski Jumping, and FIS Cross-Country Eastern Europe Cup.

Boasting exceptional facilities, the complex features impressive infrastructure, such as the K125 and K90 ski jumps, a biathlon and ski stadium, 16 FIS-certified cross-country skiing and roller skiing courses, a 200-bed hotel, swimming pool, gyms, medical and rehabilitation centers, and more. The roller skiing track at the center adheres meticulously to FIS standards, with a width ranging from 6 to 12 meters.
