The next stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts in Lahti, Finland, this Friday. The Norwegian national team is now presented.

Lahti, Finland, is the place for the next stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The Lahti World Cup starts on Friday, March 1, with a team sprint in classic technique, followed by a 20km interval start race in classic technique on Saturday, March 2, and a sprint race in freestyle technique on Sunday, March 3.

In a press release, the Norwegian Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Lahti. 

According to the press release, “We are fielding 21 highly motivated athletes for three exciting competition days in Lahti next weekend. There will once again be tough competitions and exciting races in the Finnish cross-country metropolis. We look forward to fighting for new World Cup points,” says head of sport Per Elias Kalfoss.

Silje Theodorsen and Mattis Stenshagen have a personal free place but have both decided to participate in the Scandinavian Cup in Hommelvik next weekend. Tiril Udnes Weng is skipping this weekend’s race in Finland due to sickness. 

“I was tired after the last races in the USA. Got sick in the middle of last week and still not in training. Hope to get started again this week and be ready for the World Cup at home,” says Tiril Udnes Weng.
