Lack of snow in Bruksvallarna: Swedish national team heads to Norway
The Swedish national cross-country ski team has moved its training camp from Bruksvallarna to Trysil because of warm weather and a lack of snow.
The Swedish national team was supposed to start its training camp in Bruksvallarna last Thursday, but it was pushed back to Monday instead. And now the camp will be held in Trysil.
“The plan was Bruksvallarna, but because of the current snow conditions, we have now chosen Trysil,” national team head coach Niklas Jonsson told Expressen.
Three weeks until the season opener
Several of the national team’s stars will take part in the upcoming camp, three weeks before the start of the racing season.
However, Niklas Jonsson does not believe the change of camp will have much impact on the Swedish skiers’ preparations.
“No, I wouldn’t say so. Everyone has good dryland training at home. Pushing the camp back a few days makes no difference,” says Niklas Jonsson.
The Swedish season opener takes place in Bruksvallarna on November 20–22. The organisers have stored snow that can be spread out for the races if needed.
