This summer, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo removed the logo of one of his biggest sponsors, raising questions about his next move. On Tuesday, it was confirmed that the Norwegian skiing star is set to sign a new deal with Reitan Retail, the owners of Uno-X Mobility, who have supported Klæbo for years with private flights, expert guidance, and over 25 million NOK (over 2.1 million EUR) in sponsorship since 2020.

Klæbo’s previous five-year contract with Reitan expired after the 2025 World Championships. The end of that agreement sparked speculation, especially after he briefly distanced himself from the sponsor. Now, the new contract is scheduled to be signed on Wednesday, October 15, with details about its scope and content set to be revealed by both parties.

Private flights, expert support, and pro insights

Uno-X sponsorship has provided Klæbo with access to James Moran, a nutrition expert for a professional cycling team, as well as support for private flights. Klæbo has also had the chance to attend the Tour de France as a guest, reflecting his curiosity about how professional cyclists train both physically and mentally.

“We found a lot in common, particularly a focus on innovation and development across physical training, nutrition, and mental preparation,” Klæbo said when he entered the partnership with the Norwegian energy company in 2020.

“It’s fascinating to gain expertise in altitude training, mental development, preparation, and more, while being part of a professional environment outside skiing.”

Klæbo’s private sponsors

Returning to the Norwegian national team ahead of the 2024-2025 World Championship season, Klæbo resolved earlier disagreements over sponsorships that had kept him out in 2023-2024. His current private sponsors include:

  • HOKA – shoes
  • Craft – training clothes
  • Vauhti – ski wax
  • Fischer – skis
  • Toyota – cars
  • Rudy Project – eyewear
  • Treningspartner – training equipment
  • Elon – electronics
  • Hestra – gloves
  • IDT – roller skis
  • Leki – poles

With the new Reitan Retail deal, Klæbo’s portfolio of private sponsors strengthens further, highlighting the star’s continued appeal both on and off the snow.
