German national team for Tour de Ski 2025/2026
The cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026 continues at the end of the year with the Tour de Ski. The German Ski Association has named its national team for the event.
Tour de Ski is the upcoming event of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026. The event begins in Toblach, Italy, on Sunday, December 28, with sprint races in freestyle technique. On Monday, December 29, it’s time for the 10km Interval Start in classic technique.
The program continues on Wednesday, December 31, with the 5km heat mass start in freestyle technique, followed by the 20km pursuit in classic technique on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
After the events in Toblach, the Tour de Ski heads to Val Di Fiemme, also in Italy, for the final events.
On Saturday, January 3, there are sprint races in classic technique. Sprint races in classic technique take place on Saturday, January 3, before the Tour concludes on Sunday, January 4, with the iconic Final Climb, a 10km mass start in freestyle technique up the Alpe Cermis.

In a press release, the German Ski Association (DSV) has named its cross-country ski team for the upcoming Tour de Ski.
“The 2025/26 Tour de Ski will take place with a significantly reduced scope compared to previous years. This is due to the early Olympic Games, which begin on February 6. Consequently, there will be two fewer competitions this year than usual. I think this is a correct and understandable decision,” says the cross-country skiing Sports Director Peter Schlickenrieder.
“We used the time after the World Cup in Davos to train really well again. Especially last week, there were some long endurance sessions on the program. Towards the end of the week, I noticed that I was quite tired from all the training, but that’s exactly how it should be,” says Pia Fink.
“I used the free weekend to do one or two longer, easier training sessions. There were one or two faster sessions as well, but since my fitness is already good, that wasn’t the focus this time. My main goal was to consciously train at a relaxed pace. The biggest challenge over Christmas, especially during this period, is of course staying healthy. I paid close attention to that,” says Florian Notz.
