Tour de Ski is the fourth stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2024/2025. The event starts in Toblach, Italy, on Saturday, December 28, with sprint races in freestyle technique. On Sunday, December 29, it’s time for the 15km mass start races in classic technique.

Then, on Tuesday, December 31, the 20km interval start races in freestyle technique await. On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, it’s time for the 15km pursuit races in classic technique.

After the events in Toblach, the Tour de Ski heads to Val Di Fiemme, also in Italy, for the final events.

On Friday, January 3, there are sprint races in classic technique, followed by the 20km skiathlon races on Saturday, January 4, and on Sunday, December 5, the Tour de Ski ends with the Final Climb, the 10km mass start race in freestyle technique up to the Alpe Cermis.

In a press release, the German Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming Tour de Ski.

“We are starting the Tour de Ski with ten women and seven men. Victoria Carl, Katharina Hennig, Laura Gimmler, Coletta Rydzek, Pia Fink, Sofie Krehl, Katherine Sauerbrey, Helen Hoffmann and Lisa Lohmann had already qualified via the World Cup. Tenth place was decided at the FESA Cup in St. Ulrich last weekend. As overall leader in the COC, Anna-Maria Dietze will take this tenth starting place, who has a personal right to start due to her lead in the overall ranking,” says the cross-country skiing team leader Peter Schlickenrieder and adds:

“In the men’s category, Marius Kastner will take seventh place. He will be competing in a sprint at the Tour but will then leave the Tour to prepare for the U23 World Championships.”

“The travel stress is a little less this year, which is positive. The goal is to get through the rigors of the tour in good health. The season is still long with a late World Championship. In the women’s category, five women have already achieved the World Championship standard. In the men’s category, it is Friedrich Moch. We hope that we can still qualify one or two times at the Tour de Ski. Then we can prepare intensively for the World Championships in Trondheim.”
