The winter season is just around the corner, and part of the French cross-country skiing team is heading to Beitostølen for the Norwegian premiere. The French team is presented.

Beitostølen is the place for the Norwegian cross-country skiing premiere on November 17, 18, and 19, with a sprint in classic technique on Friday, a classic 10km race on Saturday, and a freestyle 10km event on Sunday.

For the Norwegian FIS races, France will start with nine athletes. On the women’s side, France will begin with three skiers. Already on the men’s side, six athletes will start for the country.

According to Nordic Magazine, “the Blues will be independent before heading to Ruka (Finland) on November 20. Thus, some (skiers) will go to Davos (Switzerland) while others have decided to participate, on November 17, 18, and 19, in the very tough FIS race in Beitostølen (Norway).”

“This is not a team move, but something individual. These are the athletes who go there on their own by renting a chalet,” explains Alexandre Rousselet, head of the World Cup group, to Nordic Magazine, and adds:

“They will be independent during the races, without coaches or technicians. It’s good to be in confrontation with the Scandinavians, and in particular the Norwegians, before Ruka.”
