The Finnish Ski Association has named the cross-country skiers for their national cross-country ski teams for season 2024/2025.

The Finnish Ski Association has named the cross-country skiers for their national cross-country ski teams for season 2024/2025.

According to a press release from the Finnish Ski Association, the 68 cross-country skiers selected will be part of the Finnish national teams (A National Team, Be National Team, U23 National Team, U20 National Team, and U18 National Team) for the upcoming season.

“The cooperation with the Olympic Committee’s elite sports unit has been excellent. We are in a challenging situation that requires a new kind of thinking from us, as well as in terms of national team activities. Challenges develop us, and we have already learned much about our activities. We have a big need for change. Building the future requires the ability to renew and even stronger cooperation with our partners,” says Sirpa Korkatti, President of the Ski Association.

Head coach Teemu Pasanen explains about the national team:

“The next season’s national team is a suitable mix of more experienced skiers and young future promises. In a challenging economic situation, the national team has been able to put together a good overall package for training towards next season’s main goal of the World Championships in Trondheim, together with the top sports unit, OVK-Vuokatti-Ruka, and the operating environments. Most of the training season camps are in Finland, but there are also two camps abroad, in August in Trondheim, Norway, and October in Ramsau, Austria.”
