The Swedish Ski Association has named its traditional cross-country skiers for the 2024/2025 season. The complete list is available here.

According to a press release from the Swedish Ski Association, 30 cross-country skiers selected (15 women and 15 men) will be part of the A National Team and Team BAUHAUS for the upcoming season (Junior National Team below on the article).

“We are happy to field a squad that has strong successes behind it and will now train together to continue development,” says Swedish national team manager Anders Byström.

Some news in the Men’s A National Team

For the season 2024/2025, the number of places is the same as last season: eight women and seven men. One new skier is Emil Danielsson, Högbo GIF.

“It feels nice to be able to offer Emil Danielsson a place in the A National Team after he has shown his talent in the World Cup. Danielsson has had a fast development and took a big step during winter, not least in the sprint where he has been in several semi-finals and battled with the world’s elite,” says Byström and commented about Oskar Svensson, who is back to the A National Team after a season out:

“Another positive news is that we also have Oskar Svensson back after a year outside the squad. He has come in from the side getting back to the level he was in the years before. It will be exciting to bring him into the upcoming training period.”

Solid Women’s A National Team

On the women’s A national team, the same names are in for the upcoming season.

“On the women’s side, we still have eight names from last year. Everyone has continued to show an enormous high level and several of them have taken World Cup victories this past season,” says Byström.

Team BAUHAUS

Several names will contribute to an exciting season 2024/2025. Among others, Evelina Crüssel, Elin Henriksson, Anton Grahn, and Måns Skoglund are new names in the squad, together with established skiers like Eric Rosjö and Märta Rosenberg.

“In Team BAUHAUS we have a younger profile and now have Junior World Championships medalist Anton Grahn and Junior World Champion Evelina Crüssel, who has a fantastic season behind her as a final year as a junior. Måns Skoglund impressed, among other things, with a second place in the Scandinavian Cup in Hommelvik and Elin Henriksson got a big boost during the winter,” says Anders Byström.

This year, the young squad is also mixed with some more experienced skiers who have performed at the World Cup level – such as Marcus Grate and Sofia Henriksson.

“We also believe in bringing a mix of valuable experience into the team. Nice to give Sofia Henriksson the chance as this year she got to show what capacity she possesses when she is allowed to be injury-free – with, among other things, two individual 14th places in the World Cup,” says Anders Byström.

Next for the national teams is a period of tests and training camps, with gatherings in Sognefjellet, Åre, Skellefteå, and Trondheim. The men also repeat a favorite with a transfer camp as a kick-off for the summer training – and get on roller skis from Ängelholm to Ulricehamn.
