At the Pletzer Resorts Summer GP powered by Alpenpower, a broad field of junior and elite athletes will meet in Sillian/Leisach this weekend, July 31–August 1, for a city sprint and an uphill roller ski race in free technique.

Friday — City Sprint in Sillian

The city sprint in Sillian in free technique gets this Friday evening underway. The prologue features a 1.2km loop on skating roller skis.

In the heats, four athletes start together and complete a 400m loop three times, boosting the event’s spectator appeal. A total of 85 athletes are expected, including numerous well-known names from the traditional cross-country skiing World Cup such as Benjamin Moser and Teresa Stadlober, as well as Biathlon World Cup athletes like Tamara Steiner and Patrick Jakob.

Saturday — Uphill race from Leisach to Bannberg

On Saturday morning at 10:00 CEST, a mass-start uphill roller ski race will be held from Leisach to Bannberg.

Up to the U18 category, athletes cover 4km with 360 meters of elevation gain. From the junior category upward, the course extends to 6km with 560 meters of climbing, starting a bit lower down the valley.

Ninety-two athletes are currently expected for Saturday’s race, once again with a strong World Cup–level field.

Standardized roller skis from SRB and Kästle will be provided for both races. The weekend marks the first of two stops in Ski Austria’s Pletzer Resorts Summer GP 2026 roller ski series.
