Ingebrigtsen brothers bring in cross-country skiing coach for new project
Jakob, Henrik, and Filip Ingebrigtsen are bringing a cross-country skiing coach into their latest project. The 35-year-old is now in a full-time position and will be working with something completely different from what she expected.
Just over two months after her unexpected departure from the coaching job at Team Eksjöhus, Marthe Kristoffersen has found a new job – something entirely different from what she had imagined.
When she resigned as head coach of the Swedish Pro Team, Team Eksjöhus, in March, she had no concrete plan or job offer to turn to. But now the 35-year-old has been hired full-time for a role far from what she had envisioned.

Headhunted by the Ingebrigtsen Brothers
Kristoffersen has been headhunted as the sports director for “Spring Run Club,” a running club led by Jakob, Henrik, and Filip Ingebrigtsen.
She admits she’s still not entirely sure what she’s getting into, but she’s excited to get started.
“This will be a lot of fun. It’s a full-time position, at least on paper, but you do what it takes. This is probably one of those jobs where you put your whole soul into it,” she told Nettavisen.
What Kristoffersen knows about the project so far is that the Ingebrigtsen brothers want to create a “community,” organize running groups, and build a global network for runners of all levels.
“Now it’s about making things work. We’re a good group working well together,” says Kristoffersen.
“Love being part of others’ development”
After retiring from World Cup-level competition in 2017, Kristoffersen has held several coaching roles at various levels. She began her coaching career as a substitute coach at NTG (Norwegian School of Elite Sports) and later coached the Norwegian Ski Association’s regional team in Innlandet, as well as the Ski Classics Pro Team, Team Eksjöhus.
“In the beginning, I sort of stumbled into the profession. First, I got an offer to be a substitute coach at NTG. That’s when I discovered I loved helping others develop. It gave me the same energy I had when I was competing – fully committing myself,” says Kristoffersen.
Hungry for new challenges
When she left her position at Team Eksjöhus, Kristoffersen explained that it wasn’t an easy decision but a mix of personal circumstances and an inner feeling. She wanted a fresh start and had no job lined up.
“At the same time, I also felt hungry for new challenges. It’ll be nice to spend more time at home during the winter and to find more big mountains to ski down.”
And now, after skiing down a few mountains, she has found a new direction.
