The young star from Team Engcon and leader of the Youth Bib competition faces a setback ahead of Sunday’s Vasaloppet.

Hanna Lodin, the Pink bib holder and leader of the Youth competition, is now forced to make a difficult decision—to withdraw from this year’s Vasaloppet. After recovering from a cold, Lodin has regained her health but is not ready for the grueling 90-kilometer race.

“I have recovered but am throwing in the towel to minimize the risk of not being able to come back and perform as I have earlier this season.”

Lodin leads the Ski Classics Youth competition with a 302-point advantage over Louise Lindström. Vasaloppet is the season’s biggest goal for many skiers, and being unable to start is undoubtedly a significant setback for the Team Engcon athlete.

“A very tough decision, to be honest,” Lodin wrote in an SMS to Langd.se.
