The French Pro Team athlete Thomas Joly joined Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso last year and had a solid summer, winning the Ski Classics Challengers event Alliansloppet and also finishing 2nd at both Blink Festival and Toppidrettsveka.

On snow, Joly’s personal best at a Ski Classics Pro Tour event is 4th place at the Grönklitt Criterium 2023 (Season XIV). During Season XV, his first season in the Norwegian Pro Team, and despite some ups and downs due to health issues, his best results were 12th at the Drei Zinnen Ski Marathon and 17th at the Grönklitt Classic.

Joly finished Season XV in 55th place overall at the Champion competition after a premature end of the season due to health issues after Vasaloppet, where he finished 37th in the traditional Swedish Grand Classics.

A week ago, Thomas Joly announced that he was leaving Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso but would continue in another Pro Team and look for an exciting new opportunity.

“I would like to say thank you to the Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso for this magnificent season. There have been highs and lows, but I learned a lot from them. I found great colleagues and great staff. Thank you, Arnt Nyborg, for the trust. I wish you all the best and we’ll see you again,” says Joly and added:

“For me, the adventure continues, and I’m excited for what’s coming!”

The big question at the moment is: Would it be a Norwegian or Swedish Pro Team, or is he returning to his origins on a French Pro Team?

ProXCskiing talked to Thomas Joly, but his new Pro Team has yet to be revealed and is confidential at the moment. Stay tuned to ProXCskiing for updates.
