The 37-kilometer-long Skarverennet is skied in the open mountain area. The event has traditionally been one of Norway’s largest long-distance skiing races, thanks in part to the spring weather and relaxed atmosphere. The number of participants is also explained by the fact that it is possible to travel by train from Oslo directly to the race location on the morning of the race.
