Team GS8, based in Värmland, Sweden, enters Ski Classics Season XVIII with a bigger and more experienced roster after a breakthrough campaign last season.

Now in its third year in Ski Classics, the team delivered its first major milestone last season: the Green Sprint bib. For Season XVIII, the roster has grown, with higher ambitions both on and off the snow as the team looks to establish itself among the leading names in long-distance skiing. Adam Gillman takes over as Pro Team Director, a change that lets Gabriel Strid step back from the role and focus fully on being an athlete.

The Sprint bib arrived through Gabriel Strid, who won the men’s title outright last season. Vebjørn Moen finished runner-up while racing for Team Eksjöhus, and the two spent the winter battling for Green bib points at every Sprint checkpoint on the calendar.

Now Moen joins Strid at Team GS8. Will the team back both sprinters in the same competition, or split their focus elsewhere? It could be one of the more interesting subplots of the season.

The roster also gains Suzette Christin, previously with Team Nordic Expérience/Coste-Fromagerie Marcel Petite, Tova Andersson, formerly of Team Ramudden, and Ask Jørgensen, who arrives from Team Synnfjell.
