Team Eksjöhus to shut down after five years in Ski Classics
After five years as a Pro Team in Ski Classics, Team Eksjöhus is closing down its operations.
Eksjöhus, a Swedish company with a long history of sports sponsorship, stepped up its involvement in long-distance skiing in 2021 with a five-year agreement as the title sponsor of the Nordic Athlete Ski Team. That agreement has now run its course, and with it, the team will be closed down.
“It has been fantastic to follow Oskar Svärd, Espen Trældal, and all the incredible skiers in Team Eksjöhus over these five years, with two overall Ski Classics titles as the clear highlights. The journey has given us more than we could have hoped for, both in terms of sporting success and inspiration,” says Frida Scherdén, CEO of Eksjöhus, in a press release.
Gratitude to everyone involved
Pro Team Director Espen Trældal expressed his thanks to everyone who was part of the project.
“We want to extend a big and warm thank you to all the skiers who have been part of Team Eksjöhus over the years. Your commitment, determination, and team spirit have been the foundation of everything we have done,” says Trældal, and added:
“An equally big thank you goes to coaches, service staff, partners, sponsors, and all the volunteers who contributed to the operation in various ways. Without their support and commitment, Team Eksjöhus would not have been possible. Even though this is an ending, we are proud of the journey we have made together and the memories, lessons, and achievements created along the way.”
