The SC Ranking saw many changes after the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja last weekend. Here is an overview of the updated ranking.

After the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, the thirteenth and final Pro Tour event of Season XVII, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, is leading the SC Ranking, the global ranking system for long-distance skiers, with 26.005.279 points.

In the SC Ranking, the global ranking system for long-distance cross-country skiers, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs is followed by Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, in second place, with 25.726.654 points. Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, is now in third place with 24.734.219 points.

In the top 10, Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, climbs to 4th place (from 5th) with 24.684.043 points; and Amund Riege, Team Aker Dæhlie, climbs to 5^th position (from 8^th) with 24.666.836 points.

After the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, the top 10 includes two Pro Team athletes from Sweden and eight from Norway.

Top 20

Notably, in the top 20, Johan Tjelle, Team Engcon, is moving up from 16^th to 15^th place; Magnus Vesterheim, Team Ramudden, from 18^th to 17^th; and Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, from 22^nd to 18^th position.

Top 50

Athletes stepping up inside the top 50: Oskar Kardin, Lager 157 Ski Team (from 25^th to 24^th); Simon Vuillet, Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino (from 37^th to 36^th); and Hedda Bångman, Team Burger King Northug (from 39^th to 38^th).

Stepping up also: Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus (from 45^th to 40^th); Fabián Štoček, Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino (from 48^th to 46^th); and Mikael Gunnilfsen, Team Ragde Charge (from 68^th to 48^th).

Top 100

Pro Team athletes moving up inside the top 100, four or more positions: Gaute Kvåle, Team Aker Dæhlie (64^th to 54^th); Lauri Mannila, Team Edux (71^st to 55^th); Vetle Thyli, Team Kaffebryggeriet DRIV (70^th to 59^th); and Joar Thele, Team Burger King Northug (from 77^th to 72^nd).

Stepping up also: Mattia Armellini, Team Futura GTE Trentino (91^st to 77^th); Marie Renée Sørum Gangsø, Team Sjusjøen Langløp (96^th to 89^th); Stefano Dal Magro, Team Futura GTE Trentino (114^th to 93^rd); Jonas Bergli, Team Sjusjøen Langløp (104^th to 96^th); and Kasper Olsen, Ski Team Göhlins (108^th to 99^th).

Get to know how the SC Ranking system works!

The SC Ranking points are calculated on the percentual time as the skier is behind the winning time in their gender with an exponential drop of points. This makes it possible to create one single ranking for both women and men, professional and recreational skiers. 

Each skier can include results from their best 12 races within 24 months. The woman or man with the most points will have the #1 rank. In a Ski Classics Pro Tour event, the winning woman and man receive 2.000.000 points; in a Challengers event, the winners collect 500.000 points.

For the Pro Team athletes, Podium Bonus Points are also awarded to the top three skiers in each gender. A Pro Tour event winner gets 200.000 points, 2nd place brings 100.000 points, and 3rd place awards 40.000 points.
