Pro Tour Athletes With Solid Results In Italy

With less than a week to the start of the Ski Classics Season XIV, several Pro Tour athletes are already in central Europe for the final preparations before the season premiere next weekend in Bad Gastein, Austria, and showed strong racing performances. 

With less than a week to the start of the Ski Classics Season XIV, several Pro Tour athletes are already in central Europe for the final preparations before the season premiere next weekend in Bad Gastein, Austria, and showed strong racing performances. 

Several Pro Tour athletes made big impressions this Sunday at the 10km classic cross-country skiing race in Santa Caterina Valfurva, Italy.

The men’s race saw four Pro Tour skiers in the top 5. Dietmar Noeckler, Team Robinson Trentino, won the 10km classic race, followed by Oskar Kardin and Johan Hoel, both from Team Ragde Charge. Local skier Giovanni Ticco grabbed 4th place and Thomas Bing, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, completed the top 5.

On the women’s side, the 10km classic race saw two Pro Tour athletes in the top 6. Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Ragde Charge, finished the competition in 3rd place, 15.8 behind the winner. In 6th place, Sandra Schützová, Vltava Fund Ski Team, also performed well and finished 39.6 seconds behind.

Now, the athletes start the final preparations for the Ski Classics premiere next weekend. 

The Season XIV of Ski Classics Pro Tour consists of 14 events on 10 event weekends in 6 different countries. 

The season kicks off in Austria with the Bad Gastein Pro Team Tempo on Saturday, December 10, followed the next day by the Bad Gastein Criterium and ends in Northern Norway with the 67km Ski Classics Finale Summit 2 Senja, on April 2, 2023.

  • Event 9: February 18, 2023 – Grönklitt Criterium, Orsa Grönklitt, Sweden, 50km
