Lager 157 Ski Team presented: Aims for Vasaloppet double in Season XVII
Lager 157 Ski Team is entering another season in the Ski Classics Pro Tour with a sharpened focus and a clear mission: to win Vasaloppet in both the men’s and women’s categories.
With a balanced mix of established stars and promising new talent, the Swedish Lager 157 Ski Team powerhouse continues its tradition of being one of the most competitive Pro Teams in long-distance skiing.
Strong Foundation and Exciting Addition
After finishing fourth in the Pro Team competition during Season XVI, Lager 157 Ski Team now presents a reinforced lineup for Season XVII (2025/2026).
Returning names include some of the biggest profiles in the circuit: Emil Persson, Alvar Myhlback, Jenny Larsson, Runar Skaug Mathisen, Karolina Hedenström, Linnea Johansson, Nils Dahlsten, and Oskar Kardin. The newest addition to the team is Norwegian Pro Team athlete Einar Kalland Olsen, who comes from the team’s recruitment squad, Exsitec Ski Team.
Olsen impressed last season with three top-10 finishes in the Pro Tour and is considered a high-potential athlete capable of further breakthroughs this winter.
“We have a very strong and complete squad for the upcoming season. On both the women’s and men’s sides, we have skiers who can compete for victories in the biggest races. Einar has made great strides over the past year, and we see huge potential in him. The goal is crystal clear – we are going for Vasaloppet victories in both categories,” says Pro Team Director Anton Järnberg in a press release.
Investing in Long-Term Talent
The Pro Team will also continue working with young talent Anja Stolpe, who was part of the women’s Exsitec Ski Team lineup last season and will remain connected during the off-season, potentially joining either the youth team or the senior squad during the winter.
Earlier in May, Alvar Myhlback, one of the most talked-about names in long-distance skiing, confirmed the extension of his contract, marking a full commitment to long-distance skiing and Ski Classics.
Still only 19 years old, Myhlback has already spent three seasons with the Lager 157 Ski Team, steadily rising through the ranks and gaining valuable experience on the long-distance Pro Tour circuit. His most notable achievement came in March 2025, when he won the Vasaloppet at just 18 years of age, becoming the youngest winner in the race’s 101-year history.
