“I crossed my last finish line as an athlete with my best performance in the Pro Tour. I’m happy and overwhelmed to leave the sport after such an end of the season,” Lacroix writes on Instagram.

29-year-old Roxane Lacroix really made a solid end to season XI, which now proved to be her last in the Pro Tour. In the final event, 100 km Årefjälloppet, she crossed the finish line in fifth place and she ended up in seventh place in the overall Champion competition. The three last races in her long distance career were her best placements; fifth, sixth and fifth.
“I have never have won medals in a big championship, but most of the races I have done are worth all the gold in the world and I am proud of my career, which feels like a roller coaster,” writes Lacroix further on Instagram.

Team Décathlon Experiénce writes, among other things, like this on Instagram:
“Roxane was passionate about her sport. We admire her tenacity, devotion and mental strength. She was very committed to the team and she was a logistical lady. It’s thanks to her that everything around the events went in the best of ways. On top of that, she made us delicious meals.”
