Kobberløpet becomes part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Norway on April 5, 2025.

Kobberløpet becomes part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Norway on April 5, 2025.

Kobberløpet is a long-distance skiing event taking place in Sulitjelma, Norway, and has been organized for over 50 years. The 43km classic event now joins the Ski Classics Challengers circuit for the upcoming edition on April 5, 2025.

The Local Organizing Committee is pleased with the new agreement:

“This is a milestone for Kobberløpet. Being part of Ski Classics gives us the opportunity to put Sulitjelma, Fauske, Salten, and Kobberløpet on the map for cross-country skiing enthusiasts worldwide. We look forward to offering a unique experience for both elite skiers and recreational participants from near and far,” says Kobberløpet’s Managing Director Mona Mosti and adds:

“We warmly welcome everyone to participate and experience this historic race in a new format when Kobberløpet becomes part of Ski Classics Challengers from 2025.”

Kobberløpet has been a staple event in Sulitjelma since 1968, and with this new partnership, the event will now join an international series that attracts some of the world’s best long-distance skiers. Participation in Ski Classics will not only elevate the level of competition but also increase the event’s exposure nationally and internationally.

“We are very happy to have Kobberlopet onboard as a Ski Classics Challengers event. It is a fantastic event in beautiful scenery with the potential to perhaps become a Ski Classics Pro Tour event in the future,” says Theresa Fugger, Head of Events.
