Klas Nilsson changes Pro Team for the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV. And he will combine the athlete and team manager roles: “It feels very exciting,” says Nilsson.

Klas Nilsson has competed in Ski Classics for the past decade. Three years ago, he finished fifth at Vasaloppet.

During Season XIV, he raced for the Norwegian Pro Team, Team XPND Fuel, in a solid season:

“I think it went all right. I was twelfth in Toblach (Pustertaler Ski Marathon) and sixteenth at Vasaloppet. But that real result didn’t come. Ski Classics has increasingly focused on the fact that you must be very good at the tough climbs,” says Nilsson, who will also step into a new role next winter as team manager for the Swedish Pro Team, Exsitec Ski Team. Former team manager Niclas Hägglund will become sporting director.

“I will have a role as both skier and team manager. It feels very exciting to be able to combine both roles. I worked a lot with setup and planning in both Team Igne and Team Curira, so it’s something I understand and feel confident in,” says Nilsson to Langd.se.

Team Exsitec’s team building for the upcoming season is in full swing, and it is clear that Einar Kalland Olsen (who last winter, among other things, was thirteenth at the Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge) has signed a two-year contract.
