Ida Dahl and Emil Persson Take Top Honors At Grönklitt Individual Time Trial

Grönklitt ITT, the tenth Ski Classics event of Season XIV, took place today in Sweden. Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, were the fastest in the 12-kilometer-long race proving their form throughout the entire race and abilities in individual competitions.

The Individual Time Trial in Orsa Grönklitt, Sweden, saw Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, winning the tenth Ski Classics Season XIV event.

A fierce battle between Pro Tour athletes and traditional cross-country marked the 12-kilometer race organized as a time trial with individual starts. The gap between the skiers was 1 minute, with the women starting from 8:00 CET and the men from 9:35 CET. 

GRÖNKLITT ITT – WOMEN’S RACE

In the women’s competition, Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, crushed today’s Individual Time Trial competition. It was her second win this weekend and her fifth victory this season.

Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, showed a strong performance throughout the race and at mid-race (6km split) was already leading, 22.7 seconds ahead of Jenny Larsson, Team Ragde Charge, who Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, closely followed, Team Eksjöhus, 23.8 seconds back. 

In the 9.2km split, Dahl extended her lead and was 41.6 seconds ahead of Smedås, now in second place, and 44.8 seconds ahead of Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, with Jenny Larsson, Team Ragde Charge, 49.8 seconds behind. 

At the finish, Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, won with a solid margin of 1:00.1 over Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, who reversed the deficit and left Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, with the remaining place on the podium, finishing 1:04.5 behind the winner.

Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in the 4th position, 1:23.1 behind, and Jenny Larsson, Team Ragde Charge, ended up in the 5th place, 1:24.7 back.

GRÖNKLITT ITT – MEN’S RACE

In the men’s field, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, was the fastest in today’s race and proved his abilities in all kinds of races, from mass-start long-distance races to shorter events and individual starts. 

It was back-to-back wins to Persson this weekend and his 17th Ski Classics Pro Tour victory. Now, Persson surpasses the Legend Anders Aukland (with 16 wins) and is just behind Britta Johansson Norgren, who has 25 victories.

Halfway through the race, at the 6km split mark, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, had a tight fight with Petter Stakston, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Amund Riege, Team Ramudden. Persson was only 0.4 seconds ahead of Stakston and 1.9 seconds ahead of Riege.

At the 9.2km split, Persson extended his lead and was 6.7 seconds ahead of Stakston and 14.3 seconds ahead of Riege, with Patrick Fossum Kristoffersen, Team Robinson Trentino, and Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel, trying to regain terrain and close the timing difference.  

At the finish, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, won with a solid margin and a total time of 30:08.0. Petter Stakston, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in second place, 13.3 seconds behind the winner and conquered his first Ski Classics Pro Tour podium. 

The battle for the remaining podium place was fierce as Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel, increased the pace and finished in the third position, 24.7 seconds behind the winner and leaving Patrick Fossum Kristoffersen, Team Robinson Trentino, in 4th place, and Amund Riege, Team Ramudden, in the 5th position.

After the Grönklitt Individual Time Trial, Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, lead the Champion bib competition. Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, is carrying the Green bib of the Sprint competition, together with Alfred Buskqvist, Team Ramudden.

Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, carry the bib for the Climb competition. The Pink bib for the best Youth is resting on the shoulders of Karolina Hedenström, Lager 157 Ski Team, and Amund Riege, Team Ramudden.
