Forced to skip this weekend’s Engadin La Diagonela

Nygaard
The Ski Classics Legend Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, is forced to skip this weekend’s race, losing the last Pro Tour event before Marcialonga and important points in the Champion competition.

Engadin La Diagonela, the sixth event of Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XV, will be held without Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, who was one of the big favorites to win after last weekend’s superior performance at the 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon.

After winning the 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon in northern Italy, Nygaard and Team Ragde Charge traveled to Livigno to prepare for this weekend’s event: Engadin La Diagonela in Switzerland.

But on Wednesday’s training session, Nygaard crashed in a downhill. Now it turns out that the shoulder injury is so serious that the 33-year-old will have to skip this weekend’s race.

The 55-kilometer race in Switzerland on Saturday is the last race preparation before Marcialonga in northern Italy on January 28, which is one of Nygaard’s main goals for the winter. It would also have been an opportunity for the Ski Classics Legend to catch up with teammate Kasper Stadaas in the Ski Classics overall standings.

But after the mishap in Wednesday’s training session, Stadaas will have the chance to increase his lead over Nygaard in the battle for the Yellow bib overall.
