Engaged to former national teammate
The Olympic and World Champion has announced her engagement to a former national teammate, who is now a coach in the Association.
Swedish biathlon star Elvira Öberg has gotten engaged to Oskar Brandt. The couple announced the news themselves on social media.
They are being congratulated by both Swedish and international colleagues.
Öberg (27) has four Olympic medals, including silver in the relay at the 2026 Milano/Cortina Olympics. She is also the reigning world champion in mass start and has a total of six World Championship medals, as well as three golds from the Junior World Championships.
After Oskar Brandt retired from his own active career two years ago, he moved into coaching within the Swedish Biathlon Federation. The 31-year-old is now responsible for the development team Team Östersund.
Elvira Öberg is among several Swedish athletes registered for the Blink festival in Sandnes from August 5 to 8.

Another piece of happy news in a short space of time
The engagement announcement is one of two major pieces of happy news from the Öberg family in quick succession.
Just over a week ago, older sister Hanna Öberg revealed that she and her partner Martin Ponsiluoma are expecting their first child.
