This past weekend, September 19 and 20, in La Féclaz, France, the first stage of the Biathlon Summer Tour took place, with some of the races serving as part of the French Sprint Championships.

During the French weekend, the first day featured the Sprint format: 7.5km for the women and 10km for the men, with one prone shooting round and one standing shooting round.

In the women’s race, Lou Jeanmonnot won with a perfect shooting performance. The overall World Cup champion finished 49.9 seconds ahead of Austria’s Anna Gandler (8/10) and 58.1 seconds ahead of Océane Michelon (8/10).

In the men’s race, Eric Perrot, the winner of the most recent Crystal Globe, took the victory with a perfect shooting performance, finishing 54.5 seconds ahead of Fabien Claude (9/10) and 1 minute and 39.4 seconds ahead of Florent Claude (9/10).

Eric Perrot and Lou Jeanmonnot are therefore the new French Summer sprint champions.

The next day, the athletes competed in a 10-kilometer pursuit for the women and a 12.5-kilometer pursuit for the men, with two prone shooting rounds and two standing shooting rounds.

In the women’s race, Lou Jeanmonnot once again raised her arms in victory, having even extended her lead from the previous day. With a shooting score of 18 out of 20, she finished 1 minute and 18 seconds ahead of Julia Simon (20 out of 20). Océane Michelon (16/20) took third place, finishing 1 minute and 41 seconds behind the winner.

Just like in the women’s competition, Eric Perrot doubled his lead with his victory the day before. With only one miss on his final standing shot, Perrot (19/20) finished more than a minute ahead of the runner-up, Fabien Claude (18/20). And just like in the previous day’s race, it was Belgium’s Florent Claude (20/20) who took third place, more than 3 minutes behind the day’s winner.

The next stop on the 2026 Summer Biathlon Tour will take place in one month, on October 17 and 18, in Arçon, in the Doubs department.
