Schumacher reveals new ski brand
American Olympic silver medalist Gus Schumacher has confirmed his new ski brand following his departure from Rossignol: he will race on Fischer skis.
Schumacher announced the move on social media, completing a transition that became public last month when he revealed he was leaving Rossignol after more than a decade with the French brand.
“The moment you’ve all been waiting for,” he wrote, confirming the switch. “Stoked to be joining the #fischerracefamily. The boots and skis have felt amazing in testing this spring, and it’s got me looking forward to the winter. Only 4-ish months until Ruka!”
The 25-year-old had been with Rossignol since the age of 14, when he received a T-shirt and a 50% discount on skis, which began a relationship that spanned his entire rise through the sport. He leaves having won Olympic silver alongside Ben Ogden in the team sprint at Val di Fiemme, as well as the American Championship mass start title and a sprint bronze to close out last season.
