The Ski Classics Challengers event, Vaajmarathon, a 43km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique, took place today with a solid starting field. Check out the winners.

Many Ski Classics Pro Team athletes and traditional cross-country skiers matched their skills in a tough race from Mebygda, Norway, crossing the border to Rötviken, Sweden. After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers Vaajmarathon event saw Edvin Anger, Åsarna IK, and Sofie Elebro Lind, Team Eksjöhus, win the race with solid performances.

Vaajmarathon Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Edvin Anger, Åsarna IK, with a total time of 1:30:20.5.

Gustaf Berglund, IFK Mora SK, finished in second place, 2.0 seconds behind, followed by Hjalmar Oscarsson, Team Ramudden, 27.2 seconds back, and completing the podium in the third position. 

Men’s Top 3

  1. Edvin Anger, Åsarna IK, 1:30:20.5
  2. Gustaf Berglund, IFK Mora SK, +2.0
  3. Hjalmar Oscarsson, Team Ramudden, +27.2

Vaajmarathon Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Sofie Elebro Lind, Team Eksjöhus, won with a total time of 1:49:24.6.

Maja Furunäs, IFK Grängesberg SK, finished in second place and 5:55.2 back. Johanne Bjugan, Leksdal IL, 7:57.4 behind, finished in third place.

As the Vaajmarathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
