After a challenging season cut short due to illness, the Ski Classics Legend Magni Smedås is back in training and preparing for a return to the Pro Tour with Team Eksjöhus.

The Norwegian Pro Team athlete Magni Smedås has been one of the most consistent performers in recent years. She finished second overall in Season XIV (2022/2023) and followed up with third place in Season XV (2023/2024), establishing herself as one of the strongest athletes in the women’s field.

However, last winter didn’t go as planned. After a promising start, Smedås was forced to end her season early due to illness. Now, several months later, she is steadily rebuilding, with her sights firmly set on a solid comeback.

“I’ve started to get my energy back, and right now it’s about feeling that the body is responding. The most important thing is to find joy again and build a good foundation for the winter. I’m training the way I like — roller skiing, running, cycling,” says Magni Smedås on a Team Eksjöhus post on social media.

Known for her solid performances, Smedås has won prestigious events such as Marcialonga (2022/2023), Jizerská50 (2022/2023), Engadin La Diagonela (2023/2024), Birkebeinerrennet (2023/2024), and Summit 2 Senja (2023/2024) and has frequently been in contention for the Yellow bib. Her return is welcome news for Team Eksjöhus, one of the top-ranked Pro Teams on the circuit.

“Magni is one of the Tour’s strongest skiers when everything clicks. And even though the road back is gradual, the goal is clear: to return to where she belongs — at the front of Ski Classics,” the Pro Team stated on social media and added:

“We’re incredibly happy to have Magni staying with the team. Now we’re looking ahead!”
