Emma Ribom won the Svenska Spel Sommer Tour 2024 in Ulricehamn, Sweden. The Swedish cross-country skier was challenged by home skier Johanna Hagström over 15km, where the entire Swedish national team was present.

Emma Ribom and Johanna Hagström’s duel was the highlight of the women’s competition, which was the first competition in the Svenska Spel Sommer Tour 2024 and, at the same time, the inauguration of the new facility at Lassalyckan in Ulricehamn – the former World Cup arena.

They both followed each other the whole way, but Emma had a slight advantage towards the end, even though Johanna started behind. At the finish line, however, 1.8 seconds favored the Piteå skier.

According to Langd.se, the duelists recharged in different ways before the hard training, which is now in full swing again. Emma has been with her boyfriend JC Schoonmaker in the USA, going skiing and taking some mountain tours.

Johanna was a spectator at the Monaco GP with her boyfriend, Vebjørn Moen, while the couple had a few days of vacation in France.

The only one who hung around was Frida Karlsson. But she, too, had to give up towards the end and was 13.5 seconds behind, in third place.

Then, there was a gap to the others. Ebba Andersson was fourth with 42.9 seconds down. She was followed by the two Falun-Borlänge skiers Moa Ilar and Moa Hansson.

Some of the national team stars still have a long way to go. Jonna Sundling was 1:45 behind, and Maja Dahlqvist had 2:46 down to Emma Ribom. She was 14th, just ahead of Junior World Champion Evelina Crüsell from Skellefteå.
