The Cross-Country Skiing World Cup is expected to return to Ulricehamn in 2027. FIS proposes this following its latest meeting, where a draft World Cup calendar for the 2026/2027 season was presented.

The main highlight of the season is, of course, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, scheduled for February 22 to March 7.

Cross-country skiing fans in Sweden are therefore looking forward to a major season next winter.

The World Championships in Falun are naturally the centerpiece, but Ulricehamn is now set to make a return as well. On the two previous occasions when the World Cup was held, it became a major public celebration, with intense competition and a very active local business community.

In FIS’s proposal, the World Cup in Ulricehamn is scheduled for March 19–21. It would be the final competition weekend of the World Cup season and thus also the season finale.

FIS is also proposing changes to the Tour de Ski. The Tour would likely be shared between three countries. France is set to host races in Les Rousses for the first time. Germany and Oberstdorf are also back, while the final stage will, as usual, take place in Val di Fiemme.

This is FIS’s proposed calendar for the 2026/2027 Cross-Country Skiing World Cup:

• November 27–29: Ruka (FIN)
• December 4–6: Trondheim (NOR)
• December 11–13: Davos (SUI)
• December 31–January 10: Tour de Ski
• December 31–January 3: Les Rousses (FRA)
• January 5–6: Oberstdorf (GER)
• January 8–10: Val di Fiemme (ITA)
• January 22–24: Engadin (SUI)
• January 29–31: Toblach (ITA)
• February 12–14: Lahti (FIN)
• February 22–March 7: FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Falun (SWE)
• March 12–14: Oslo (NOR)
• March 19–21: Ulricehamn (SWE)
