Sundling and Halfvarsson Win the Mixed Team Sprint at Falun World Cup
Jonna Sundling and Calle Halfvarsson won the mixed team sprint for Sweden at the last World Cup race, season 2021/2022. Results from the mixed team sprint.
Coming into the mixed team sprint, a new World Cup event format, the teams with two athletes skied six laps each, and after every other lap, the two last teams were eliminated, with seven teams reaching the final lap.
From mid-race, Sweden 1 opened a gap and never looked back, winning the race with superior performance from Jonna Sundling and Calle Halfvarsson, with a total time of 23:05.91.
Tiril Udnes Weng and Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, Team Norway 2, finished in second place, 10.09 seconds behind the winning duo and 0.07 seconds in front of Lotta Udnes Weng and Harald Østberg Amundsen from Team Norway 1, in a close sprint to the finish line.
