Ski Austria names new cross-country head coach
The Austrian Ski Association has named Tommaso Custodero as the new head coach of its cross-country skiing team ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The Italian takes over as head coach of the national cross-country skiing program, with the Austrian Ski Association (Ski Austria) confirming the appointment on social media.
Meanwhile, the sprint group, which has enjoyed a strong recent period, will continue to be led by Fabian Sieder, ensuring continuity in one of the team’s most successful areas.
The coaching news follows Ski Austria’s recent confirmation of its cross-country skiing squads for 2026/2027. Teresa Stadlober, Mika Vermeulen, and Benjamin Moser hold national team status for the upcoming season, with Heidi Bucher, Magdalena Scherz, Michael Föttinger, Tobias Ganner, and Lukas Mrkonjic named to the A-Team.
