Poli wins the 50km race at the Italian Championships

Fabrizio Poli, CS Esercito, secured first place in the 50km mass start race in classic technique at the Italian Championships. Results from the men’s race.

The Italian cross-country skiing Championships 2024 ended with a long-distance event this Tuesday, March 27, with a 30km mass start race in classic technique for women and a classic 50km mass start race for men at Pragelato in some challenging snow conditions.

50km Mass Start Classic – Men

Fabrizio Poli, CS Esercito, won the 50km mass start race in classic technique with a total time of 2:29:50.7. Ivan Mariani, CS Carabinieri, finished in second place, 11.0 seconds back.

Lorenzo Romano, CS Carabinieri, completed the podium in third place, 16.5 seconds behind the winner. 

Federico Pellegrino, Fiamme Oro, and Simone Dapra, Fiamme Oro, rounded out the top 5 by finishing 4th and 5th, respectively.
