Jonna Sundling, the Swedish cross-country skier star, had to return home from the national team training camp in Vålådalen just two weeks before the season premiere.

Jonna Sundling, the Swedish cross-country skier star, had to return home from the national team training camp in Vålådalen just two weeks before the season premiere.

“Jonna has had a bit of a cough recently,” says Sundling’s coach Magnus Ingesson to SVT Sport.

The question is whether Jonna Sundling will return for the season premiere in Bruksvallarna on November 18.

“Jonna is physically fit but has had a bit of whooping cough now and then in recent days. That’s why we choose to take the safe side to avoid her getting sick. We follow the progress every day, and then we’ll see when Jonna is ready to step on the gas again,” says Ingesson to SVT Sport.

The Swedish national team is currently in a training camp in Vålådalen. This week there were sprint and distance training competitions.
