Italian Maria Gismondi wins the Junior World Championships mass start in Planica

Maria Gismondi secured first place in the junior women’s 20km mass start race in freestyle technique for Italy at the Junior cross-country skiing World Championships. Results from the mass start race.

Maria Gismondi, from Italy, took first place at the Planica junior 20km mass start race in freestyle technique with a total time of 52:48.3. The Italian cross-country skier was followed by Anniken Sand, from Norway, 12.0 seconds back.

Gina Del Rio, from Andorra, completed the podium in third place, 21.0 seconds behind the winner. 

Evelina Crusell, from Sweden, and Eva Ingebrigtsen, from Norway, rounded out the top 5 by finishing 4th and 5th, respectively.
