The cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026 continues at the end of the year with the Tour de Ski. The Finnish Ski Association has now named its national team for the event.

The cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026 continues at the end of the year with the Tour de Ski. The Finnish Ski Association has now named its national team for the event.

Tour de Ski is the upcoming event of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026. The event begins in Toblach, Italy, on Sunday, December 28, with sprint races in freestyle technique. On Monday, December 29, it’s time for the 10km Interval Start in classic technique.

The program continues on Wednesday, December 31, with the 5km heat mass start in freestyle technique, followed by the 20km pursuit in classic technique on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

After the events in Toblach, the Tour de Ski heads to Val Di Fiemme, also in Italy, for the final events.

On Saturday, January 3, there are sprint races in classic technique. Sprint races in classic technique take place on Saturday, January 3, before the Tour concludes on Sunday, January 4, with the iconic Final Climb, a 10km mass start in freestyle technique up the Alpe Cermis.

In a press release, the Finnish Ski Association has named its cross-country ski team for the upcoming Tour de Ski. 

“Finland will start the Tour de Ski with a large team of 15 athletes, including seven women and eight men. This year, the Tour will be skied in Toblach and Val di Fiemme. The event will start in Toblach on Sunday, December 28, with freestyle sprints. In Toblach, there will also be traditional 10-kilometer interval starts, a new 5-kilometer heat format, and a classic 20-kilometer pursuit race. The Tour will culminate in Val di Fiemme in early January, where the program will include classic sprints and a decisive 10-kilometer freestyle mass start, which will end with the legendary final climb of Alpe Cermis,” says the press release.
